Young Entrepreneur Program (YEP) Video Elevator Pitch portion of the competition sponsored by Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Shasta College

An ‘Elevator Pitch’ is a brief and concise description of your product or business concept typically made to an investor. For Phase 2, teams with the top business concept entries will be invited to submit their 60-90 second video elevator pitch to YouTube (see directions below). The top six participants (three from each age category) with the most potential (see judging criteria) will be invited to present their ideas at the YEP Business Fair & Elevator Pitch Competition held April 15, 2010, at the Shasta College Theatre in Redding, California.

Remember, all competitors must be 14 to 27 years of age and a Shasta, Trinity or Siskiyou County resident at the time of the YEP Business Fair & Elevator Pitch Competition. During Phase 2, the YEP judges will determine the winning “pitch” based on a combination of your business concept plan, elevator pitch and YouTube votes.

Instructions for submitting your video to YouTube

1. Create a NEW account on YouTube

2. Upload your Elevator Pitch video to your new YouTube account.

3. After uploading your elevator pitch, test the link to insure it works properly.

4. Send your elevator pitch link to us at kwilson@shastacollege.edu.

5. Your elevator pitch video will be uploaded to our business concept & elevator pitch competition YouTube account.

6. Remember, your elevator pitch video link must be received by March 26, 2010.

SBDC will contact all finalists notifying them of the details for the YEP Business Fair & Elevator Pitch Competition. Good luck and have fun!
