Shasta Cascade SBDCRedding California

With [SBDC advisor] Joe's help in making sure that all of my documentation was sent into the SBA for the loan application, I was able to get an $18,700.00 low interest rate loan from the SBA. Thanks Joe for all of your help.

Jon Geiman

Jon Geiman is the founder and owner of A Beautiful View in Redding.  His business is a full service window and gutter cleaning service for both business and home. With over 25 years of window cleaning experience he has a passion to work hard and do everything with quality and excellence. On his website he states:

“To us, a job is never complete unless you are 100% happy with the work we’ve done”

Unfortunately, hard work and excellence don’t always mean a business will never face hardships. Like hundreds of other businesses in Shasta County, A Beautiful View did not come out unscathed from the Carr fire in 2018.

During and after the fire, small businesses and home owners cut back on what was perceived as unnecessary services. This took a toll on both the number of Geiman's business clients as well as his residential clients.  He was faced with a reduced income and was needing help staying afloat.

Geiman met with SBDC advisor and loan specialist, Joe Rodola to figure out his options on how he could make it through the economic downturn his business was facing. Joe recommended Jon apply for the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan. With help from Rodola and the SBDC, Geiman applied for the SBA fire disaster loan and continued to receive assistance throughout the process to help with all the required paperwork as needed.

With everything in order, Geiman was able to secure an $18,700.00 SBA Economic Injury fire disaster loan. This loan was able to get him through the slow start in the new year and help him gain momentum going into 2019. With the much needed funds, Geiman was also able to retain 2 jobs that were at risk.

Fire may have fought hard but our community is fighting back harder.
