Jessica Graves is the owner of Jessica Graves Insurance Agency, Inc. She provides support, guidance and resources -- from business plan development to advanced-level coaching — for 31 independent Farmers Insurance business owner / operators. She began attending SBDC workshops in late 2019, looking for training opportunities to augment the support she provides her clients. Her company continues to be very successful.
In early 2020, she established BlueSky Organizations, LLC to take advantage of other business prospects. About the time the pandemic hit, Jessica also saw an opportunity to purchase a commercial building but was cautious as she faced the possibility of declining future revenues during COVID. She worked with SBDC advisor Lani Lott and other specialists to bolster her marketing efforts and take advantage of the opportunity to purchase the building, partially utilizing SBA guaranteed loans.
During 2020, with the help and advice of the SBDC, Jessica was able to get her businesses through the initial stages of the pandemic and, at the same time, procure financing and close escrow on a four-plex commercial building in Redding, CA.
