About Me:

Laura Velasquez is a business professor and entrepreneur. Laura has played an integral part in teaching college students and adult learners to discover their potential within the business industry. Laura is the founder of a women’s lifestyle brand founded in September 2013. Her e-commerce business is a combination of Soccer + Fashion. In 2016 she launched a free soccer clinic initiative to empower and inspire at-risk high school teens living in underserved communities by educating them on healthy living and positive thinking.

Laura has worked in the oil & gas industry, fashion & runway, and held pop up shops. She has launched several fashion shows as a way to promote and market her brand. Her latest fashion show was held in Paris, France during the FIFA Women’s World cup.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston Downtown and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. Laura is a graduate of the SURE Program for Entrepreneurs from the University of Houston Bauer College of Business. She received a Congressional Certificate from the State of Texas Governor and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
